Anime Spoylight - The Morose Mononokean
This is in that unique genre of cute boys be cute with cute yokai!! This goes in the group with Elegant Yokai Apartment and How to keep a Mummy! I loved this anime because it has lovely characters and a world, the boys are very shippable and its just nice and well animated.
The plot is Ashiya is a high school student who was possessed by a fuzzy demon as he is starting his first day of high school which made him extremely ill. He enlists the help of Abeno to exorcise the demon but ends up working for Abeno to pay off his debt. A crybaby but kind-hearted boy, he seems to hold a mysterious power that has yet to be revealed in the manga series.
This series is all about friendship and overcoming your past and learning about yourself. I love the mythology in this and the yokai designs. I adore the little tadpole phones they are the cutest. Its a very sweet show and never really gets dark or that high a threat level and sometimes even I like some more light hearted. Plus I totally ship Abeno/Ashiya
